Events & Programs

Picture
Throughout each year, we schedule a variety of programs and events to enliven the historic Meetinghouse and tell the stories of this special place.

Here are some of our regularly scheduled events. You can also check our calendar for additional events and programs.

October 2, 2015 Genealogy Meetup

Picture
On Friday, October 2 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, let’s gather at the historic 1770 Germantown Mennonite Meetinghouse to explore family histories.  Whether you share a genealogy connection with Germantown Mennonites or have an interest in colonial Philadelphia history, come hear stories and share resources as we help fill in the gaps of Germantown Mennonite history.

Registration includes event admission, light refreshments, limited edition print of Meetinghouse ($25 value), and Colonial Germantown Mennonites book ($15 value).

Early Bird registration until September 25—$40                       After September 25—$50

Event made possible with support from Historic Germantown, Genealogy Society of Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Cultural Fund.

Christmas Candlelight Carol Service
An annual tradition, based on the simplicity of Christmas celebrations of years gone by.  Join us on the first Saturday evening in December (December 5, 2015) as we celebrate with carols and fellowship in the timeless setting of the Historic Meetinghouse. Expect a cappella congregational singing, scripture readings, musical contributions by special guests from a variety of Mennonite traditions, a beautiful candle lighting during the singing of Silent Night, and seasonal refreshments to follow.  Free admission - all are welcome!
